Veterinary Medicine

Question: My dog has started drinking a lot of water. What could be wrong?

Answer: There are a number of conditions that cause polydipsia. Bladder infections, some foods, uterine infections, kidney failure, and diabetes are some causes. Your veterinarian will need to do some tests to determine the cause.

Treatments may include antibiotics, special diets, or insulin. Do take your dog to the veterinarian as soon as possible.
