Let the madness begin!

All of the teams that I cover in football have made the playoffs, and all of the nine-man teams have home games on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday night, there are four games being played in the area and my head will be spinning. In Class 9AA, the Chester Flyers will host the Canistota Hawks. Both teams enter the playoffs with identical records of 7-1.

In 9A, the Colman-Egan Hawks are the No. 1 seed in Region 2 at 7-1 and will host Irene-Wakonda (2-6).

In 9B, both the Oldham-Ramona-Rutland Raiders and the Howard Tigers will have made the playoffs in Region 2. The Raiders (5-3) will host Dell Rapids St. Mary (3-5). Both teams are from the Dakota Valley Conference, and the Raiders beat the Cardinals earlier this season. The Raiders are the No. 1 seed in Region 2.

Howard is the second seed in Region 2 with a 3-5 record and will host 3-5 Alcester-Hudson in the opening round.

Four games in one night - that probably won't happen! Two games maybe, but one game for sure. I will have to choose wisely and if the weather is nasty and rainy, maybe I'll stay home as getting sick is not an option.

Madison is the third seed in Class 11A and will host Milbank Area on Thursday night at Trojan Field in the opening round of the 11A playoffs.
