Michaela Anne-Marie Johnson and Nathan Sullivan Shay were married on Aug. 1 at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse in Madison. The Rev. Nathan Nash officiated with Erick Schneider assisting.
Parents of the couple are Kenny and Jody Johnson of Madison and Ken and Jean Shay of Pierre. Special guests were Sonja Corbin of Madison, grandmother of the bride; and Owen and Delaine Shay of Sioux Falls, grandparents of the bridegroom.
The maid of honor was Abri Summerer, and bridesmaids were Breanna Birk, Hannah Shay, Eshita Trevetti and Michelle Erickson.
The bride's personal attendant was Sarah Shay, and the flower girl was Jayne Lees.
The best man was Griffin Veldhuizen, and groomsmen were Daniel Shay, Owen Shay, Joel Maxwell and Micah Fryslie.
Ushers were Austin Lund, Derek Lund, Brady Green and Nathan Fields.
Special music was provided by Darbi Howell.
Friends and family enjoyed lawn games and indoor table games with dinner and a dance to end the evening.
The newlyweds both graduated from Dakota State University on Dec. 12 and are currently making their home in Madison.
