Anita Protsch and Michael Haas were married in a back-yard ceremony on July 4 at the home of the bride's parents, Chrysti and Greg Protsch of Howard. The wedding was officiated by Darwin Lynde, uncle of the bride.
The bridegroom's parents are Jim and Kathy Haas of Northfield, Minn.
The bride was escorted by her father down a yellow brick road. Her sister, Alyssa Protsch, was the maid of honor, and her sisters-in-law, Trisha Protsch and Karin Haas, were bridesmaids. The flower girls were her cousin, Breanna Severson, and her nieces, Harper and Hadlee Protsch and Rayna Donahue.
Daniel Haas was best man for his brother, and groomsmen were the bridegroom's brothers-in-law, Alex Protsch and Jared Donahue.
The reception followed the ceremony with dinner, dancing and sparklers.
Special guests included the bride's grandparents, Vincent and Mary Protsch, and Eunice Schwader, all of Howard.
The bride graduated from South Dakota State University and earned her master's degree in education at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. The bridegroom is a graduate of Metro University.
They live in Minneapolis, Minn., where she is a teacher at the Whole Learning School in St. Louis Park and he is a grant researcher.
