Kara Michael Carmody and Matthew John Vinez were married on Oct. 10. The Rev. Greg Skrypek performed the afternoon ceremony at Church of the Assumption in St. Paul, Minn.
Parents of the couple are James and Nancy Carmody of Ramona, Margaret Vinez of Sun City Center, Fla., and Keith Vinez of Brunswick, Ohio.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an Allure strapless, slim-fitted gown with sweetheart neckline in light gold satin with ivory lace, a satin ruched waistband and Swarovski crystals. She carried a bouquet of white dahlias, white and green roses, mini green hydrangeas, flowering kale, hypericum and scabiosa pods.
Erin (Carmody) Riedel was the matron of honor for her sister, and the bridesmaid was Jenny (Riis) Babcock.
The best man was Dan McAnallen, and the groomsman was Tom McAnallen, both cousins of the bridegroom.
The flower girl was Haidyn Vinez, niece of the bridegroom; and the ringbearer was Henry Babcok, godson of the bride.
Ushers were Brian Carmody, cousin of the bride; Dan Holian, cousin of the bridegroom; Joe Riedel, brother-in-law of the bride; and Dan Vinez, brother of the bridegroom.
A reception was held at The Klub Haus in St. Paul. Hosts and hostesses were Jack and Mary Carmody, uncle and aunt of the bride; and Dave and Mary Holian, uncle and aunt of the bridegroom.
The bride received her bachelor's degree in biology from South Dakota State University and her DVM from the University of Minnesota. She works for Companion Animal Veterinary, Banfield Pet Hospital.
The bridegroom received his bachelor's degree in finance and international business from Ohio State University in Columbus. He is owner/broker at Vinez Benefits Group.
Following a 17-day trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland, the couple is at home in St. Paul.
