The Associated School Boards of South Dakota, still has 34 openings listed on its teacher placement website, including seven coaching positions, according to Executive Director Wade Pogany. However, apart from a few support positions, area schools are fully staffed.

The new owners of The Floral Shop plan to reopen the flower and home decor business in September after they have renovated and redecorated the store located on Madison's south side along the SD-34 bypass.

On Friday night just after midnight the Madison Fire Department was dispatched to an electric pole on fire two miles north of Madison.  The Lake County Sheriff's Office also responded to the call.

Changes have been made to the Dist. 7B girls basketball semifinals on Thursday. The Chester vs. Elkton-Lake Benton AND Oldham-Ramona-Rutland vs. Colman-Egan games will both start at 6 p.m., due to the expected snowy weather.

The Madison Lady Bulldogs downed Garretson 44-20 on Tuesday night. Madison advances to the region semifinal game against Flandreau Public on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Tea.
