The Madison City Commission adopted on Monday a five-year infrastructure improvement plan for the city that mapped out $7.3 million in capital-improvement projects from 2016 through 2020.

The plan presented by City Engineer Chad Comes included the SD-34 improvement project planned for 2016 and 2019 that is part of the South Dakota Department of Transportation’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. It also includes two SDDOT bridge replacement projects scheduled in 2018 for the city’s Center St. and Grant Ave. bridges.

For 2017, Comes scheduled a Center St. reconstruction project between Highland and Josephine avenues that will include new water and sanitary sewer mains and new storm sewer.
