City acknowledges county disaster resolution

The Madison City Commission acknowledged on Monday a resolution approved by the Lake County Commission asking for assistance from state and federal governments to help the county recover from last week’s flooding.

Area schools have few staffing issues

City votes to buy Cars for Les property

City commissioners approved on Monday – with a split vote -- an agreement between the city of Madison and Titan Property Management LLC, the owner of the Cars for Les vehicle-sales lot, that would have the city buy the real estate for use by the Madison Electric Department.

Fire Call

On Friday night just after midnight the Madison Fire Department was dispatched to an electric pole on fire two miles north of Madison.  The Lake County Sheriff's Office also responded to the call.

On Sunday morning at 10:42 am the Madison Fire Department was dispatched to N Blanche Ave for an acetylene torch that caught fire in an alley. The Madison Police Department also responded to the call.
