Question: When should we start flea medicine for our dog?

Answer: Now! With warm weather here, fleas will be in the grass, spread by rabbits and squirrels. There are several new products this year. Nexgard® and Seresto® are pills that work very well for fleas and ticks. For cats we have Frontline® which lasts a month and Bravecto® which lasts three months. It's also time to start Heartgard® to prevent heartworms which are spread by mosquitoes. Consult your veterinarian for the best product for your pets.
