On May 11, the Madison Post Office letter carriers again joined letter carriers across the country in the 27th annual Stamp Out Hunger program, collecting a near-record 5,010 pounds of food from postal patrons. This food has restocked the Lake County Food Pantry and will be used to address hunger in Lake County.

On behalf of the Lake County Food Pantry, I wish to express our very grateful appreciation to the Madison letter carriers and the many generous households who donated food.

Special recognition is due Jerry Martian and all of the letter carriers for their exceptional work in making this donation possible. Including the 2 1/2 tons of food collected this year, the Madison letter carriers and the generous folks in Lake County have provided the Food Pantry with over 100,000 pounds of food through this ongoing food collection effort.

On behalf of the many families who have had food for their table as a result of this program, please accept this sincere thank you.

Jeff Nelson

Food Pantry president
