Lois O'Hara, age 83, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 9th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father DeWayne Kayser as the Celebrant. Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Wednesday at Weiland Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:30-10:15 AM followed by procession to the church for Mass. Family invites friends to join them at St. Thomas Cemetery on Friday, May 10th for the committal service at 2 PM.

Lois Mae O'Hara was born in Montrose, SD on May 30, 1935 to Vincent and Gertrude (Foster) O'Hara. She grew up on a farm south of Franklin and later moved to Nunda, SD. She went to beauty school in Sioux Falls and worked as a beautician most of her life; she even owned her own shop in her home for many years.

Lois married Johnny Niemann in Pipestone, MN on August 27, 1955 and had three children, Alicia, Peggy and Bill. Lois and Johnny later divorced but remained great friends. She enjoyed many things including card games, drinking coffee with her friends, and cherished her time with her family and her grandchildren. To know her was to love her. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be missed by many.

Lois is survived by her three children, Alicia King and Peggy Niemann, both of Sioux Falls, SD, and Bill (Angelica) Niemann of San Mateo, CA; nine grandchildren, Braxton and Logan King, both of Sioux Falls, SD, Patrick, Riley and Taylor Musil, all of Sioux Falls, SD, Emily Niemann of Tokyo, Japan, Kyler, Mali and Legend Niemann of San Mateo, CA; two great-grandchildren, Lukka Antezana of San Mateo, CA and Jozelle Cole of Madison, SD; one sister, JoAnne Lentsch of Madison, SD; one brother, Nick (Ramona) O'Hara of Edina, MN; dear friend, Deanna Bergheim of Madison, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Vonnie O'Hara; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Lentsch.
