LaVonne Koscki, 91, former Madison resident, died on March 25, 2019.

Funeral services were held on March 29 in Longview, Wash.

LaVonne Johnson was born on August 14, 1927, on a farm in Winfred, S.D., to Conrad and Marie Johnson. LaVonne graduated from Madison High School in S.D. On August 1, 1948, she married Robert "Bob" Koscki at St. Thomas Catholic Church. They started their family in Madison, S.D., and moved to Longview in 1968, where they continued raising their six children. In 1977, her husband died suddenly and she began her 25-year career at the Longview School District, working various jobs in the kitchens and eventually becoming the secretary of the Food Service, which she loved.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, her home, giving advice, watching sports and playing fantasy football. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

LaVonne is survived by five children, Marcia Iverson (Jim) of Flandreau, SD, Kevin (MeiLi) of Rocklin, CA, Donna Leinweber (Dennis) of Longview, Colin (Lori) of San Diego, and Marilyn Brink (Jim) of Spokane; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, a daughter Janice Roseman in 1994 and two brothers, Don and Merle.
