Madison wins twice at Rezatto Rumble

The Madison Bulldogs boys' tennis team opened the season by winning two out of four matches at the Rezatto Rumble in Aberdeen this past weekend.

Madison topped Rapid City Central 6-3 and Aberdeen Roncalli 5-4.

Rapid City Stevens downed Madison 8-1, and Sioux Falls Roosevelt beat Madison 9-0.

In the win against Rapid City Central, Madison picked up single wins from Blake Kennington, Jerron DeJabet, Tyler Wardner and Braden Eimers.

Kennington beat Pacey Nelson 10-2, and DeJabet stopped Dylan Pederson 10-5.

Wardner picked up a 10-7 win over Gabe Knudson and Eimers downed Rhett Svarstad 10-7.

In doubles action, Kennington and DeJabet topped Nelson and Pederson 10-8. Eimers and Seth Fernau best Knudson and Svarstad 10-4.

In the win against Aberdeen Roncalli, the Bulldogs picked up four singles wins and one doubles win. DeJabet beat Jackson Henrich 10-3; Fernau topped Michael Garofalo 10-0; Wardner edged Cason Hellwig 11-10; and Eimers raced past Nick Harr 10-1.

Eimers and Fernau picked up the only doubles win of the match. They beat Hellwig and Harr 10-1.

The only win for Madison against Rapid City Stevens was Kennington beating Asa Head 10-6.

Madison is scheduled to host Sioux Falls Christian on Thursday starting at 4 p.m.
