Madison Black picks up two wins in I-29 Tournament

The Madison Black Teener baseball team outscored their opponents 42-5 in pool play of the I-29 13-14 Tournament which started Thursday and concluded on Saturday.

Lucas Mork scattered two hits and gave up two runs in Madison's 7-3 win over Tri-Valley White on Saturday in Volga. Mork picked up the win while Kadyn Gehrels pitched one inning of relief.

Lucas Johnson had two hits including a double to lead Madison's offensive attack. Jared Kennington also had two hits while Calvin Kelsey had two RBIs for the winners. Sutton Bern and RJ Cook each had RBI singles.

Madison blanked Volga 6-0 on Friday during the second round of the tournament. Johnson, Zoey Gerry and Aiden Jensen combined to fire a three hit shutout.

Johnson started and had three strikeouts in three innings.

Mason Kennington had two hits including an RBI double for Madison. Jared Kennington had two hits and one RBI for Madison.

Madison Black will host West Central Navy on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Baughman-Belatti Park.
