The Madison Bulldogs club baseball team opened the season with a doubleheader against Parkston at Dakota Valley High School's Baseball Field on Sunday.

In the opening game, Madison used a strong pitching performance by Tyler Tappe and Aspen Dahl to down Parkston 6-0. The two combined to throw a three-hitter.

Tappe worked four innings and recorded nine strikeouts. Dahl worked three innings and recorded six strikeouts.

Logan Allbee, Tappe and Ty Jorgenson each had an RBI for the Bulldogs.

In the second game, Parkston took advantage of three Madison errors to gain an 8-1 win.

Parkston jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Madison scored in the top of the fourth.

Ben Lester had the only RBI for the Bulldogs.

Lester finished with two hits while Allbee and Evan Appelwick each had one hit.

Braden Eimers pitched three innings and struck out two. Appelwick pitched two innings.

Madison will go to Mitchell on Tuesday to face Mitchell in a 4:30 p.m. game.
