Bulldogs participate in Ruth Marske Invitational

The Madison Bulldogs track and field teams competed at the Ruth Marske Invitational at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex on the campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings on Saturday.

The girls tied for 15th place with 12 points. Winning the team title was Brandon Valley with 106.50 points.

Following the Lynx were Watertown 57, Bishop Heelan 50, Luverne 48.50; Sioux City East 44, Kingsley-Pierson 39, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 32.50; Sergeant Bluffs-Luton 26, Pierre 26, Sioux City West 24; West Central 22.50; LeMars 16, Madison 12, Marshall 12, Lennox 12, Okoboji 12, Sioux City North 10, Ames 6 and Whapeton 6.

The top performance for the Bulldogs was turned in by Morgan Anderson. She placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 15-feet-0.

Kate Comes finished seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 28-06.

Morgan Hansen was eighth in the pole vault with a vault of 7-06. Abby Brooks was eight in the 100-meter hurdle race with a time of 17.85 seconds.

The foursome of Isabel Gors, Kylie Krusemark, Kendra Leighton and Anderson placed sixth in the 400-meter relay with a time of the 52.90.

Leighton was 10th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.99 and Juliana Hodges was 10th in the shot put with a toss of 31-10.


In the boys division Madison placed 17th with 13 points. Winning the team title was Watertown with 111 points.

Following the Arrows were Sergeant Bluffs-Lutton 76, Sioux City East 53.50; Omaha Creighton Prep 53.50; Marshall 39, Brandon Valley 36.50; Sioux City North 35, Bishop Heelan 26, Wahpeton 24, Spirit Lake 24, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 21, Brookings 21, Pierre 20, West Central 18, Luverne 16, Okoboji 14, Madison 13, Kingsley Pierson 10, LeMars 6, Stanley County 3, Lennox 2 and Sioux City West. 1.50.

Ammon Hawkes had the best finish for the a Bulldog. He placed second in the pole vault with a vault of 12-06.

Truman Stoller was fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 37-03 1/2.

Sam Olson was eighth in the pole vault with a vault of 10-06 while Sawyer Miller just missed out in placing in the pole vault as he cleared 10-06 and finished 10th.

Madison will go to Sioux Falls and have a dual meet with Sioux Falls O'Gorman on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
