Flyers break standard qualifying marks and times in four events

The Chester Flyers set 16 personal records and four individuals qualified for the State Track Meet by breaking state standard qualifying marks at the Dell Rapids Invitational on Monday.

Riley Philips qualified for the State Track in the high jump as he cleared 6-feet-0 and placed second.

The Flyers had three place finishes in the boys' division.

Isaiah Young was first in the 200-meter dash in 23.64 seconds. Chris Mohr won the 1600-meter run in 5:33.07.

Young, Alex Tammen, Aden Baumberger and Mohr won the medley relay in 3:55.83.

In the girls' division, three Flyers qualified for the State Meet. With a throw of 35-08.50, Jadon Wages won the shot put with a state qualifying mark.

Cami Streff was clocked in a state-qualifying time of 12:27.95 to win the 3200-meter run.

Makenna Larson qualified for the 400-meter dash in 1:00.62.

Chester will go to Parker for the Big East Conference Meet on Thursday starting at 2 p.m.
