The Madison School Board will consider approving a budget for the 2019-20 school year when it meets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday in Room 400 at the high school.

The school board members will hold a hearing at 5:45 p.m. to listen to any information regarding the proposed budget for the next school year. The board members have received a proposal for a $15.37-million budget from district officials.

After the hearing, the board members will consider approving the 2019-2020 budget and the property tax request.

At the start of the meeting, the board members will review personnel actions that include resignations from Adam Ericsson as a high school English teacher, Stacy Anderson as the varsity girls' basketball coach, Joy Boon as a high school paraprofessional, and Jacob Schreck as head varsity debate coach, all effective at the end of the 2018-19 school year.

The board members will also review hirings for the 2019-2020 school year that include Chad White as a middle school physical education/careers instructor and as an assistant varsity/freshman boys' basketball coach and Nicole Troxell as a high school English teacher and head varsity debate coach.

They will review a pay change for technology coordinators with a raise in base pay by $1 per hour.

In other business, the board members will consider:

-- Approving an open enrollment request.

-- Reviewing the Madison Middle School handbook and proposed changes that include revisions to rules about immunizations, administering medicine, and threats of physical aggression.

-- Reviewing recommendations regarding food-service rates for the 2019-2020 school year.

-- Approving a quote for fuel purchases for the 2019-2020 school year.

-- Changing the date of July board meeting to Thursday, July 11.

At the end of their meeting, the school board members have scheduled a closed session to discuss consultations with legal counsel or reviewing communications from legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters.
