The Madison City Commission will consider having the city sign a reimbursement agreement with the state of South Dakota and Tru Shrimp, a Minnesota-based company, when the commission meets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at City Hall.

Tru Shrimp officials, after negotiating with state officials, have proposed building a shrimp-raising facility in Madison. The reimbursement agreement would have the state and Tru Shrimp each pay one-third of costs – up to $50,000 each from the state and company – for municipal infrastructure studies related to the Tru Shrimp project.

The city commissioners are scheduled to hear reports from Eric Fosheim, executive director of the Lake Area Improvement Corporation, and Eric Hortness, executive director of the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce.

They will also consider a request from GMACC and LAIC officials to provide temporary malt-beverage licenses for the July and August DownTown in MadTown outdoor concerts.

The commissioners will also consider approving renewal applications for malt-beverage and South Dakota farm wine licenses.
