Lake County commissioners will begin to hear budget requests for the next fiscal year when they meet on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the commission meeting room of the Lake County Courthouse.

Prior to hearing budget requests, the commission will approve utility occupancy applications from Sioux Valley Energy, approve an agreement between Lake County and the South Dakota American Legion regarding the use of courthouse space, acknowledge an extension to the driver licensing agreement with the state Department of Public Safety, approve an application from the Lake County livestock committee to use the 4-H buildings and grounds, and approve the WIC contract with the state Department of Health.

The commission will also receive a quarterly report from Eric Fosheim, executive director of the Lake Area Improvement Corporation, and consider an amended extension rental services agreement related to the courthouse plumbing proposal.

Both Sheriff Tim Walburg and Shelli Gust, commission administrative officer, will address the commission regarding personnel issues.

The following will present budget proposals: Glenda Blom, Extension office manager; Kimberly McCoy, Interlakes Community Action Partnership; Nancy Sabbe, director of the Madison Public Library; Bob Johnson, Weed and Pest Board; Tammy Miller, Madison Regional Health System CEO regarding the ambulance service; and Cynthia Mallery, coordinator of the Smith-Zimmermann Museum.

Also on the agenda are the animal control budget for the state Department of Game, Fish & Parks and the contingency budget.

The agenda does not include any discussion items.
